An avenger who embodies the never say die spirit. An avenger who gets so attached to you that he refuses to leave! This avenger’s primary task is to keep you so engaged , that you cannot engage in anything else -your life becomes a uni-threaded program. This avenger has a weapon much more powerful than Thor’s hammer, strength that surpasses Hulk, resilience greater than Iron Man, and loyalty deeper than that of Captain America! Yes ladies and gentlemen, I’m talking about the king of All Avengers, one that S.H.I.E.L.D cannot curtail or contain- “The common cold”.
The common cold, also known by his alter-ego flu is the most fashionable disease of every season. This Avenger operates on masses and does not discriminate between targets.However, a target whose habitable environment is air-conditioned, or whose residence is where the weather changes by the hour, is preferred for longevity of the cold! He is usually accompanied by his good friends- the Headache and Fever. Together they are “The three musketeers”! Once a target is found, this assailant strikes with more stealth than Ethan Hunt. He also deploys guises that are utterly irresistible such as delicious ice-cream, a glass of ice-cold water and yummy milkshakes. Once the initial attack succeeds, his friends the Headache and Fever ensure maximum impact coverage and destruction of peace.
This avenger has one known enemy- The Paracetamol. Paracetamol’s counter effect lasts for a few hours, during which any of Cold’s targets can experience a brief reprieve from the tormenting effects of Cold and his friends. But once Paracetamol fades, this trio strikes again and more powerfully so. Typically, the musketeers stay with a target for 7-10 days during which time they would have successfully drained any energy it has. When it’s time to take leave, the musketeers summon their pet Poltergeist, “The Cough” to continue assault on the target and further disgruntle it. Depending on the fight left in the target, methods left to annoy(i.e dry cough, wet cough), power of cough syrup etc, the cough enjoys any time between 15-30 days of merriment! Just when the target finally manages to exorcise cough, the musketeers return with a bang , all guns blazing at the target and the perennial cycle of life is thus!
